my first: saw the link on bensbargains...figured id check it out...it cant hurt...and here i am. started out in hot deals...wasn't much of a poster until recently...wasn't addicted either...until recently.
 
think i saw it on tom's back in 1997 or so

back in early 2000 i was hitting the main page a lot. i think more was going on back then than now. notice that they don't review heat sinks anymore.

Once I could no longer use my posistion as a DEA consultant to keep the-hive.ws and Rhodium out of trouble, the CEO of thier ISP decided that wasn't the kind of website he wanted on his servers, so it was shut down. I needed a new forum to haunt, so I found this one. Addicted? I can quit anytime I want! My first post? I have no clue anymore. It was in GH.

Regularly? Probably Video and General Hardware about a year ago. I've been reading/lurking on ATOT for at least three years though. Haven't started posting/neffing here until relatively recently. 😛
 
oh right...AT was on geocities for a while right?...at least thats what ive heard...way before my days...i am humbled my you lifers and diamond members 🙂

p.s. just became a senior member! who hoo...i know its nothing compared to some of you guys...but i find it as a reason to rejoice! :beer::beer:
 
I found AT while searching for answers to bios questions. I read lots of articles and posts before I ever registered.
I usually come around to nef, look for stuff to buy, and get my news.
 
I was looking for a computer to build in 2003, and wanted to see what parts were the best bang for the buck. A Google search for "9600 pro benchmarks" had Anandtech as one of the first results.
 
I was searching for some mobo info (via mvp3 days). I bought a board based on THIS review. I loved the board and became a reader ever since. It took a year to get me into the forums though.
 
I think I heard about this place from Tom's Hardware. I lurked and watched the drama unfold here in OT for a couple years. Then I joined a month ago, strictly to post in OT. Made a couple posts in hardware and software so far.
 
Firstly when i was looking to buy my gfx card (9800 pro was the recommendation for top end then 😉 )early middle of last year.

Then joined the forums in november i think, after being banned from an Australian forum after a gigantic Farcry vs d3 thread got especially toasty and out of control 😉

First post was probably in Video, but these days it's full of pimply little asshats who wont shut up about sm3.0 so OT and a little CPU action 😉
 
Had a friend that's really into computers and myself being interested too had to join. I got addicted almost instantly.
 
i lurked here for a number of years for hot deals, but didn't register till i saw my fiance (at that time, at least 😉) was on here as a golden member and then i decided i might as well 🙂
 
I was looking for a video card. I was addicted to the Video forum for quite a will before branching my addiction out to other catagories. And then I stopped caring about my computer so much because there weren't any good games out, and now I stand before you ATOT for life.
 
yea...i am ATOT for life as well...i had like 15 posts in hot deals...and once i found ATOT its a diff story...again...its not as much as you guys...but still...200 posts is a lot for me...i tend to read more and comment only if i find something really funny or worth commenting on.
 
bleh I'm still upset they got rid of the original boards back in late 1999.

I swore I'd never rejoin...but after a few months I caved in.

EDIT: I think it was 1998 when I was in a thread over at AGN (no longer exists) that linked over to some lowly site named anandtech....I HAD to join to resond in the thread.....several hundred members only at that time.
