Allofmp3.com was posted a while ago, and I'm just checking to see whos using it, and what results they are getting.

For those not familiar with it, it is a Russian run music site that lets you download music in the format of your choice. (Online Encoding enables you to get music in the format (MPEG-1 Layer 3 - MP3, Windows Media Audio - WMA, Ogg Vorbis - OGG, MusePack - MPC, MPEG-4 AAC, etc.) and of the quality you prefer.)

I'm not sure how pricing works, but I hear its a few cents per megabyte or somthing.

Why pay ?

Is it stealing?!

I'm sure if the RIAA tried to arrest you, you'd have a damn good defense. Plus the thing is just awesome, you download the explorer. You set it to auto-download. Open it up. Then browse the site, it has full albums and everything in awesome quality for cheap ($1 an album). Order your album, come back in 30 minutes, the album is practically finished downloading in the explorer where it comes out fully tagged and ready to go. So simple and easy, it's worth what little money it costs imo.

i use it, they have most of the songs you may be looking for, but not all. You'll be dissapointed about 20 percent of the time. THis is not illegal, the artists get a share of the profits from this.

A) The legality of it has yet to be concretely determined as far as I know. B) It's better than screwing with bogus/poorly tagged/etc files on p2p networks. C) (dial-up specific) I can use a download manager and I know I'll still be able to find a source for my file hours or days later. Again, unlike p2p.

Anyway, I use it. Probably downloaded 700 songs or so at this point.

I finally jumped ship and started using it - this is how the record labels should be selling music!!!! 🙂 Today I've already dowloaded 200 songs, it's great 🙂

if you have something off their "wanted" list you can, just rip as wavs and use their thing to upload/encode to 384bit MP3s, they give you back teh $ amount x2 for doing that, the upload list is a bit smaller now, i think i uploaded like 6 or so albums

I use it, Ive Dl'd about $15 worth so far. It's cheaper than ripping he CD's by yourself and they come out all tagged and ready to go.

This looks great, specially since we have no working online store in europe (Napster or iTtunes)

BTW, how would you pay? for some reason I don' really like to give my visa number to a russian website. I don't know if it's just me who are supersticious....

At least its more convenient than Kazaa. You can choose the size of file and have a clean, uncorrupted or dummy files the labels are pimping onto Kazaa.
