Installed the Triumph accessories I ordered with the bike (Flyscreen, Hugger, Tank protector, and bar-end mirrors). Still needs some powder coat work, pipes, and a fender eliminator kit.

Picked this up yesterday.

2009 Triumph Speed 3

I have ridden a lot of bikes, but nothing with the rip your face off character of the S3. It snorts, it growls, and it begs to be ridden hard. Flick your wrist and it feels like being dropped kicked by god. Power comes on at 2500rpm (unlike a Japanese liter bike that comes alive at 10K), and builds through the entire rpm range.

When done right it almost always looks hot, except on a Civic.

God thats hot!!

Not sure about the chrome pipes though. Might have been nicer all matt black. Hawwt!

There is a set of slip-ons that are thinner and matte. I am going to get those and have the pipes ceramic coated to match. I am also going to powder coat the headlight buckets and rearsets.

The best part of owning any bike is customizing it to taste.

Someone I know just had his GT-R painted matte black.

I love the growl of a Triumph triple, but if I had to pick the best sounding motorcycles of all time....

Street = Any Ducati + Aftermarket pipes with a dash of dry clutch rattle

Racing = Honda 6cyl GP

Steve McQueen was a man, not an environmentalist.

Nice bike, I love triples. However you are mistaken when you say "Power comes on at 2500rpm (unlike a Japanese liter bike that comes alive at 10K), and builds through the entire rpm range. "

Modern japanese bikes have a wide powerband which is one reason they dominate at the racetrack.

Look at the dyno charts of the speed triple here and the Suzuki GSXR1000 here.

The Suzuki has more torque (and hp) at any usable rpm.

3000 rpm Triumph ~62 ft-lbs torque
3000 rpm Suzuki ~68 ft-lbs torque

4000 rpm Triumph ~66 ft-lb
4000 rpm Suzuki ~80 ft-lb

8000 rpm Triumph ~69 ft-lb
8000 rpm Suzuki ~100 ft-lb

Then it must be something in the gearing, because the S3 has more usable "grunt" at street speeds using my "Butt Dyno".
