thats not a surprise. you can't abuse the body like he did in his past and the work he did and not have such things happen.

His wife is jumping to conclusions a bit. Many things can cause heart failure, not just the drinking and the drug abuse. In fact, those kind of activities cause problems with other organs such as the liver. Heart failure can happen to perfectly normal people who lead healthy lives - it's just a genetic thing for many people. I had a friend who never drank, never smoked, was lean and healthy and died of heart failure at 35yrs. At least one third of all members who post here at ATOT will die of heart failure at some point. Many at a relatively young age. Doesn't mean they are druggies who abused their bodies.

my uncle had to have heart surgery when he was 31. he was in awesome shape also. never smoked, drank or did any drugs.

But he would work out 4 hours a day 5 days a week. it was pretty shocking when he told me he was going in for surgery.

Yeah man, I'm not much of a wrestling fan but I did tune in. It was pretty emotional. They had ALL the wrestlers out in front when RAW kicked off. Vince was speaking and about half the wreslters were crying or had tears in her eyes.

Good show.

yeah some of the little clips were pretty touching. I knew a few were really close to Guerro. They said that last nights show and friday's are going to be tributs to him.

the ending with Cena putting the shirt in the middle of the ring with the belt was classy as well.

Besides cutting back on the number of house shows that are done (which would be hard to do from a financial standpoint), is there anything else the WWE could do to stop all these guys from dying so young? I mean heck, he's practically made the actual wrestling a small part of the TV shows, which at least saves some wear and tear on the body. However, they still need to stay in shape, and it's the constant working out that seems to have been a cause in Eddie's death.

4 hours a day and 5 days a week? Didn't he work or was that his job?

Vickie Guerrero speaks on Eddie's autopsy report
Nov. 15, 2005

After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is still reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie?s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today.

?It was heart failure. It was from his past ? the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that?s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn?t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn?t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn?t feeling good and we thought it was just ?road tired.? So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.

When he didn?t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night).

I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best.

We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us.

I?m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It?s touched my heart a lot.

Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together.

All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don?t know what to do now.?

thats really sad :(

i feel bad for his family. i hope all the asshats who were trashing him/wwe in the other thread are dealt with accordingly. that was just completely heartless. no need to bash if you don't like wrestling. i dont like wreslting at all but still, its sad to see such a healthy young man go, especially considering how much he entertained his audiences.

Oh Great....I haven't even watched the RAW tribute (it's on my Tivo), but am already crying a bit since you just mentioned that.
