They live off angles regarding patriotism. Remember the days of Sgt. Slaughter vs. The Iron Shiek? They should be ashamed of themselves for bowing to the political correct jackasses out there.

WWE Statement Concerning Muhammad Hassan

Due to the unfortunate terrorist attacks in London on Thursday, July 7, which coincided with our pre-produced WWE SmackDown! program, UPN has asked us to be sensitive to the usage of the Arab-American character, Muhammad Hassan. We have agreed with UPN, and have not had the character on SmackDown! since that date. It is uncertain as to whether or not the WWE will continue with this character beyond this Sunday?s Pay-Per-View, The Great American Bash.

I remember back during the first gulf war when Sgt. Slaughter betrayed america and fought for the shill from baghdad against hulk hogan. Looking back now, it was stupid, barbaric propoganda.

Ha-ha! I read somewhere that "Muhammad Hassan" was really half-Italian, half Puerto-Rican.

Bring back the FBI! -(Full Blooded Italians) Nuncio, Palumbo, and Stamboli :D

I watch wrestling and I kinda agree. The way his character is being portrayed and the things he says a bit on the extreme side, even for wrestling.

LOL, I thought the same thing, that he looked more Italian than Iraqi. That's what made the character funny to me. People REALLY need to lighten up.

Remember the Mamalukes from WCW? Big Vito and Johnny The Bull? Those guys were great and had the best theme song. :D

That's just genius. In order not to offend Arab Americans, they rip their Arab American entertainer off the air. That was his job.

He was born in Amman, Jordan. That's next to Iraq.

Hassan is half Italian, half Jordanian. His mother was Jordanian. He was born in Jordan and raised in Syracuse, NY.

Hassan is hilarious.

He's a decent entertainer with a contraversial character. Was there calls for the Iron Sheik to stay off TV during the Iranian hostage crisis? Of course not, that is why he was invented.

Hassan should be put back on TV and the hell with being sensitive.

I want to watch the Undertaker tear him a new one. :p

Keep in mind that we now live in a pussified world. We must account for everyone's feelings.

Yep, it's a shame. I wonder if Hassan was still on Raw, which is on Spike Tv (cable), there would have been this big outcry. Hassan is hilarious, and Divari. Now, Undertaker is probably going to destroy him tomorrow to kill off the Iraqi gimmick.

If you're offended that easily, I feel sorry for you. Just remember, it's your problem.

they didn't have a choice. upn refused to show hassan on their programming so it's not like they could do much about it.

and to those talking about the sgt slaughter angle in 1991, don't soon forget that wwe had to change their wrestlemania 7 venue because they couldnt even sell out the arena with slaughter headlining as an iraqi supporter.

Well it wasn't the WWE, it was UPN that wanted the character gone. Guess Undertaker will just destroy him at the PPV and he will be brought back as some no named jobber.

Mark Magnus is likely out of a job after this one, so is Shawn Daivari. It is no fault of their own, either. Pretty sad...
