I've read a few threads where the 2.7 beta is causing errors, especially with overclocked systems. You might want to get the most recent beta available.

Sorry that I don't know the WU times.

no errors here. 3-4 hours on my system. the new clients are more fsb dependant.

Don't you mean the new clients are less FSB dependant ? (compared to v2.04 or v2.4)

It seemed to make my system freeze momentarily - e.g. I'd move the mouse but the cursor wouldn't move for a second. But I'm not sure that it was the only program that could have done it.

The only "error" that I've noticed was that it wastes an extremly large abount of cpu time to the idle process under Win2K
Manually adjusting the process priority to normal doesn't solve the problem.

Oh, one more thing.
I've asked this question because I have to decide which of the both CPUs to buy ....

I think with the newer clients, (or at least, when 3.0 comes out) that the memory footprint required should go down so that it can fit (mostly) within 256k L2. If that's true, then the P3 @ higher clock speeds will be best.

Assimilator1 - i think the new clients are less cache dependent and more fsb dependent.

the only version with memory leaks was v2.73. i've run all versions (2.70, 2.71, 2.73, 2.74, and 2.76) on Win98se, Win2k and WinME and i've had no problems with my setup.
