Maybe give it another two weeks. There are reportedly some add-ons and discussion about them in Forum Issues. I'm not a fan of losing the right quarter of my screen width to display information that I really don't need most of the time. My username? I kind of know that already. Staff and members online? That worked fine at the end of the page. The End key did a fine job of getting there. Recent threads? Kind of useful.
Enormous avatars? I guess if you're on a little phone screen that might help. I'm not.
Gotta exercise that scroll wheel and PgDn key I guess. (Yes, there's some CSS or Greasemonkey hack available. That's not really a decent solution though.)
