WTH? Win2000 slow to right click?

Hi,
I have win 2k pro and for son reason now when i right click on the desktop/a link etc the menu take like 3 seconds to come up? What is that and how do I fix it?


Any help would be great.

Well, how quick was it before? How much RAM do you have? How big is your paging file? It could be any number of things. Do you hear steady disk activity when you click on something or is it just silent for 3 seconds then boom, it opens?

I believe it is do to the animation of menu(s) that is causing the delay. If you have TWEAKIU installed try disabling any animation of menus and it should speed things up.

It appears that you don't have a system rigs page (you should get one...they're cool to have), so I can't tell anything about your system, but I'll guess you don't have the latest and greatest system, so it's probably the fading animation that is slowing down your menus. This is easy to disable (w/o installing TWEAKUI). Get the "Display Properties", go to "Effects", and uncheck "Use transition effects for menus and tooltips". HTH.
