Got to looking around on the web today to try to find a new rifle for range shooting (my 1975 Remington model 700 finally gave up the ghost) and found a store that had a brand new Model 700 classic for an ungaudly low price. So out of curiousity I called him. A very nice gentleman (I'm guessing mid 30's by the voice) answered the phone. I asked him about the rifle they had listed on their website and strangely enough, he seemed confused. I began describing the gun and he was like "Oh, the Reem-in-tongue. Yeah, we got those. The ones with the shinny barrels. You wanna tip rib with that?" I had to think of WTH a tip rib was. Then he says "Yeah, the tip rib. It makes the gun not so loud and not flashy and all." (he's refering to a noise reducing flash suppresser, which the model 700 can't use.) This conversation went on like this for about another 2 minutes at which point I just hung up. I'm really scared because people like this shouldn't be gun owners let alone dealers. Interestingly enough the place is located in texas.
