WTH? No one hitting 2.6Ghz with their 3000+ 90nm?

I'm not seeing any success stories of people hitting 2.6Ghz like Anand got in his article.

Vote if you hit 2.6Ghz. I don't think these chips are all that they are cracked up to be.

Luck of the draw, with my year old 3000+ 754 cpu it can reach 2.5. I'm interested in hearing about the 90nm cpu also. Its about time to upgrade.:)

my 3000+ 90nm is at 2.52 (280x9) at 1.62V (according to mobo). I'm pretty sure I have room for more but my mobo (MSI K8T Neo2-FIR) is limited to 280FSB :(

I let you know monday. I just got mine in today but my wife is going to make me finish hanging crown molding I promised her.... hope to get to it this weekend but with water cooling it's such a PITA to swap parts around.:(

I have serious doubts from everything I've seen. Anand get "select" parts I thinking.

No Sh!t. I sold my 3200+ newcastle that did 2.4Ghz easy thinking I could get an easy 200Mhz more.
Guess not, because I don't see ANYONE doing it. Zebo will but he's not on air.

i get whats in sig, but with more voltage (wud require better than my stock hs/f) i probably could go well over 2.6. oh maybe 3000's clock worse than 3200. shrug.

Have my 3200+ winchester at 2.5ghz with 1.55 volts now, didn't like it being at 1.6v at 2.6 ghz even though it's watercooled and hardly warmer than stock (44C load)...but since Lithan has seen his up to 1.7v I think it might be ok for me to try 2.6ghz at 1.6-7v again, because wasn't Prime95 stable before.

Also, what's the verdict on a high voltage on a cool CPU? I don't like sticking all those volts into my Winchester even though it's cooler than most people's stock temps.

see sig for o/c results. This system is stable too... prime95 for over a day and superpi 32K.

I wonder if everyone on this thread can say the same? I hit 2.6 and was able to run benches (aquamark, 3dmark03) but playing any real game (doom3, farcry) would lock my computer up in 5-10 minutes.

Lithan, what temps, mobo, and hsf are you running with your voltages that high?

No temp read on this board in windows and I haven't bothered to install a diode, k8ns ultra, xp120.

well, that xp120 would explain alot!! =)

how did you get your K8N to 1.7 V? Is this a 939 or 754 we're talking about?

Anyone know the link for the 1.36 beta BIOS for the Neo2 Platinum? You can't get voltages above 1.6 with the 1.3 BIOS, but the betas apparently can go higher...

I guess Anand's results are YMMV and doesn't reflect the all of the new Winchester 3000/3200.:)

To be fair, the 90nm process is still new, and HardOCPs chip was a week 31. If you get a week 40+, your chances of 2.4 or higher are better.

And HardOCP used the stock (retail) heatsink.

They are only using 1.4vcore. My 2.6ghz chip will only do 2.25 @ 1.4vcore. Their results are actually pretty damn good.
