WTH!!?? Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed looks like ASS on my GF4 Ti4200

NFS4

No Lifer
It's been a while since I played NFS😛U, the last time being on my GF3 Ti200. But I installed the game today since I got a new force feedback gamepad and loaded it up with my Ti4200 and it looks like CRAP. The textures are all blurred and the text on the screen looks like it has lines through it and some of the textures are just plain crappy looking. The cars in game also look pretty crappy. Never had that problem with my GF3.

All my other games look fine (Tony Hawk Pro Skater, F1 2001). 3DMark2001SE also doesn't have the problem.

I'm using the latest reference drivers and have the Direct3D settings at default. I enabled and disabled V-sync. I also enabled and disabled the "enable triple buffer" option under 3DSetup for NFS.

I don't know what to try now 🙁

My specs are in my sig.

XP maybe...I get terrible slow downs in frame rates and game crashes since I installed it on my XP system. Tried "compatibilty" setting in the "exe" file (properties) set to Win 98 , no differance.

It's not XP b/c I was running my GF3 in Windows XP.

LOL 🙂 Thanks for the laugh... "looks like ASS on my GF4" 🙂 could be read "looks like the ASS on my GF" heheh 🙂 Sorry, it's late...

I'm surprised you could even get it running in XP with a GF3. I had to reinstall Win98SE just to play this damn game. I'm using the latest reference drivers in 98SE and also get weird problems. The textures look okay, but all the text looks to be off by a few pixels in all directions. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of driver issue because I don't remember hearing of these problems when the game was originally released.

If it'll help anything, I'll install it on my both of my systems tonight (WinXP/GF3 and WinXP/GF4) and see how it runs.
