I disagree. They're just expressing their opinions. It's just a piece of cloth...

I absolutely disagree with their sentiments, but I'm a firm believer of freedom of expression. INCLUDING mangling a flag if that's their choice. Though if they try to do that to mine... :|

I know! First school shootings and now this!

I think this is the lowest priority of problems with the youth today.

Oh big whoop. We are losing our freedoms on a every basis and you are worried about some kids ripping up the American flag? Bah.. It's America cobalt and with freedom comes opinions from people that you might not agree with.

I don't get why cutting a piece of cloth is such a big deal... Sure, I'm glad to be an American too, but if someone wants to express their displeasure at this country, whether their views are unfounded or not, by dismembering its symbol, why should that bother me?

Excuse me for being irrational tec, but that is one reason I'm angry. I decided to read some of their comments on their pictures and it was just horribly horribly ignorant, stupid, disgusting, and very, very sad.

lol, If it is their flag, what is the problem. Yes they are burning a flag. By doing it, they say it is no longer worth the values it once had. That's all. For everyone that says people died for that flag, it takes a real idiot to die for a flag, it takes a patriot to die for their country's values. There is a difference and it seems (I hope) that those kids are trying to get the across the point that it has lost all meaning. Whether you agree with that or not, it is there opinon and they are expressing it. I would wager that most people who burn the flag don't do it because they hate America, they do it because they loved America and they don't think the flag has the same meaing it once did.

Urban Dictionary

Teen Angst

Recent cultural phenomenon where young people (typically ages 13-18) think that they have it tough, that they have rights, and that their opinion actually means something, and that they can do whatever the hell they want.

Such uncouth behavior undoubtedly arises from lack of parental guidance. Or because the kid in question is just plain stupid. Normal kids from good families don't have a rebellious, angsty stage.

"This Linkin Park album is so deep."
"I can do whatever I want!"
"I want my freedom!"
"I'm killing myself!"
"You can't control me!"
"I'm like, so totally depressed and stuff."
"It's just a little pot!"

Why do they even stay in the USA if they hate it soo much. If someone is complaining about the US, and they live outside of the country, so be it. We don't like other countries, just like they don't like us. The only other reason that you would do this is because they have NO life, want attention, and think they are badasses because on 150 and 151, it shows them drinking a beer, and smoking. This, in all respect, means that they must be cooler than anyone, because THEY take pictures of themselves drinking and smoking. "Look, I am a fat, ugly, maybe a girl, but maybe not, goth who thinks that ripping up american flags, and drinking and smoking is teh badassest thing in the world" Please children, please.

Then you're a moron. In the most sensitive and polite definition of the word.

Look at how old they are, you think they stay awake at night crying about how America used to be so great, but gosh, they just don't see that anymore? How they remember the good ol' days when our presidents were honest and had no garbled intentions, when they could walk down the street to the ice cream man without being mugged for their money, how everyone used to just get along. They cry, they hurt, they want their America back, the America they USED to know!. Right. They know nothing outside of what their peer group tells them, or the amassed subculture of the crap they find joy in. If you think for one second they give a rats ass about American history, then... I just feel sorry for your judge of character.

A picture's worth a thousand words, my dear.

1000 x 151 = 151,000 words. Which is quite enough to judge a character accurately. ;)

But moreover, I still remember what it was like to be that age, and I remember doing a few things that weren't socially acceptable just because it was as such (but nothing nearly as ignorant as the kids in the pictures). Walk up to any 13 year old American kid, or walk up to a hundred 13 year old American kids. Ask them their views on America as compared to how it used to function. Enjoy the completely empty responses you get.
