wth is wrong with Roddick

He was slicing because Nalbandian was ripping his arse around the court. He has to try to stay in it somehow.

Looks like he's going to pull through though!

can't believe he pulled it out, I really thought he was a gonner...damn glad he won though! Well played match, finally got his head into the game and started taking balls earlier...i.e. not conversing with the linesmen during pts :0

Roddick is a punk and a brat. Everything that is wrong with tennis: spoiled White rich arrogant boy from Boca.

and your better, right?

I'm very disappointed in this match... 3rd set tie break, some jerkoff in the crowd yells "Out" while Roddick returns a Nalbandian shot close to the line. This of course confuses Nalbandian so he dosen't put effort into returning and it becomes a point for Roddick. The chair umpire should've revoked that point because of a severe distration but isntead he let it ride which was a huge blunder. That wa Nalbandian's chance to finish the game.

it's when one loses a point on a shot that he/she shouldn't have.

i.e. the ball wasn't struck by the opponent in such a matter that it was unreturnable...basically if the ball is returnable and the person f's it up, it's an unforced error...

so while in every other sport your supposed to ignore anything that goes on around you, tennis doesnt follow that? i play tennis, but even if it gets called out i still would play it, let the other person not attempt to return it, and if its a destraction him get screwed.

"I play tennis" and "I play at the US Open in the Semifinals with thousands of people present" is an entirely different situation. You could tell Nalbandian's morale was shot after that; it was like he threw away the last game.

I saw the thing where the jerk yelled 'out' when it was not out.

If you had watched the game. . when the ball goes out the ref yells out to let the players know that the ball is out of play.

So, imagine your are nalbandian, hit a sht, landed real close to the line and you here someone yell out. By this point, roddick had already begun his return and he goes ahead and finishes it, so you just net the ball because the point is over, right? wrong, it was some monkey.

When I saw it, i thought that it had been the ref who had yelled out.

In addition, Roddick's behaviour during the match was less than admirable. when he lost the second set, he just smashed the ball up (and presumably into the crowd) which deserved and recieved many boos from the crowd. On a serve of his that was out by less than an inch he argued with the ref for a while before going back to his thing. on a fluffed volley he takes his anger out on the net by shaking it (That will teach it to stop my balls!)

I think that nalbandian should have won (and maybe would have had some asshat not screwed things up for him in the potentially match-winning tiebreaker)

stop whining, there were calls that went against roddick as well. a couple of shots that looked like they could be called either way and they were called in favor of nalbandian.
