If that is really the case it seems unlikely that any answer you find here will satiate you. But I will give it a shot.... Not everyone shares your opinion of her abilities.

She's not a big slut (see Miley and even Selena - she's working her way up), she's extremely fashionable, tall, blonde and young. What's not to like?

Yes, I like her music. It's good pop! I draw the line at Fearless though - her first album, aside from one or two songs, is way too kiddy.

I certainly understand your point. I mean I have heard people who cannot stand listening to Bob Dylan and Louis Armstrong (I like them both) due to their vocal. However, this girl simply cannot sing. Her voice sounds like a cat being suffocated on high notes.

this is fucking awful. seriously fucking awful. i listened to it twice to see if it was just like awful because i know the real song, so i tried to listen to it as a whole new piece. it's even worse.

I disagree. It's nothing like the original, but I thought it sounded very good.
 
I just listened to the song, and no. I love me some Taylor Swift, but that song was bad. Now I know why I ignored her Christmas album (aside the fact that I'm a Scrooge and avoid every Christmas album).

She got famous because look who she's up against. If you put her in a time machine and took her back to the 70's when the music industry was full of real singers, and not just 1 here and there. She wouldn't have gotten a record deal, and if she somehow pulled it off, she wouldn't have became popular. When you're up against Brittnay Spears & Jojo it's not really hard to appear to sound good, even when you don't. Which is exactly how she gets by. In the 70's she would have been sub par next to even the mid level singers. Next to a Chaka Khan, Stevie Nicks or Aretha she would have been considered a joke.

And to people defending her "she's not a slut!" she was with John Mayer right? lol.

You are objectively wrong. It's not even a matter of opinion - she is an excellent singer, and to say otherwise is just being a contrarian dick because you think it makes you look cool.
