Uh, there's been one about 100 miles off the border on 77 in Raymondsville, TX for quite some time.

Went through this one 2002 by El Paso, TX on the way from San Antonio to Los Angeles. Our vehicle had a TX license plate. Asked if we are USA citizens/legal immigrants. :(

I bet you the people that are being assholes about answering a simple question are the same assholes complaining about illegals stealing their jobs and are using up all the welfare and public services, either that, or they're complicit.

Defense in depth, thirty years of failure and counting. The first checkpoints seemed suspiciously placed not so much to keep Mexicans in Mexico as to keep Mexicans from leaving the farming areas.

As annoying as these people are, I appreciate what they do. Somebody has to push against authorities to attempt to preserve our rights.

I honestly dont know why any of this matters. Obama has flat out stated they get to stay now. He has no intentions of kicking them out.

There are 32 permanent and 39 mobile.

Most are 25-75 miles inland along the US/Mexico border. A handful are within 100 miles of the Canadian border.

They've been around for ~4 decades and officially constitutional since 1976. United States v. Martinez-Fuerte, 428 U.S. 543 (1976).

They can stop everyone and ask them questions.

They cannot search without consent or probable cause, however the later has a fairly low standard in these inland checkpoint situations.

The Democrats covet the Hispanic vote, while the Republicans covet the benefits to big business from a slave labor class. Nobody's going to get rid of this problem anytime soon.

It takes 15 seconds to answer the BP questions. This guy and everyone like him are asshats. If they requested he pull over and search his car while placing him in restraints I could understand his "rights" were violated.

Answer the questions and move on - I appreciate the BP, why give them a ration of shit?

LOL. At 2:35 he pulls the ol' Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck yes-no-yes-no-yes-no-yes-yes trick.
