What is so good about it??
Nothing.

It sucks worse than you can imagine.

why is it still playing then? is it a cult following thing?
Yup.

Brainless idiots with nothing better to do with their lives are keeping that piece of crud going and going and .........

saw it on dvd... was like wtf. its interesting in a freakish way. demented sorta. not sure about the cult following though, they are nutz

You guys are crazy for not liking it...Wait, maybe im crazy for liking it. Who cares. Its a classic. It was made in the day when that topic was hush hush. Besides, seeing it has a secondary script for people in the audience to say.

A lot of people love it, not me, but a lot do. Seems to be mainly either the freaky type or drama geeks who are really into it.

Two places in socal (the nuart and the art theatre) have weekly saturday midnight showings.. everyone in socal has to go once cause its really cool

Meh....you gotta see it live. If you haven't before, they mark you as a virgin with a 'V' on your forehead and then fvck with you all night. It's alot of fun.

It was originally made years prior to the one they finally released. But none of the studios would touch it.

They planned a sequel too: Shock Treatment

EDIT: I didn't realize they RELEASED it! :Q

/heads to eBay...

Back in the 80's, me and my friends would go to the 'midnight movies' to see Pink Floyd The Wall and the theater next door would run Rocky Horry Picture Show. It was interesting to see everybody dressed up going to RHPS (plus we were all really high). can't remember were I was going with this.....

Yup, that confirms my earlier opinion. The fans are all a bunch of idiots and loosers.

RHPS makes baby Jesus cry.

As a movie it sucks. That's kind of why it became a cult classic in the first place. The movie was so amazingly awful there was absolutely no way to watch it like a normal flick, people needed to entertain themselves. They did, they came up with lines, put on shows and used props as a way to make the theater experience worthwhile. If you just rent RHPS and watch it like any other movie, you'll be completely lost. If you go to see it in a GOOD theater that has a regular audience that knows the lines and performs the skits, you'll probably have a very good time. You just need to get into the karma of the whole thing.

When you say "theater" do you mean a movie theatre or live theatre?

I hate it, except for the Timewarp song.

I know a lot of people that love it. I don't know why they do, it's like people who love mayonnaise. It just doesn't make sense.
