I emailed one of the players and I got replies from him and the coach of the flag football team. They said it's highly competitive, it's full contact, players ages range from 20-44, they are registered with some Flag Football association, they play in a league, they travel sometimes to play other teams, and they're sponsored.

Jesus, I was just looking for a little football group to play with on Sundays.

Look for the rec leagues, not the competitive ones. The rec leagues are actually fun and have people that are looking to have fun.

The competive ones are just full of assholes that take their bitterness of life out on others.

Just my perception. Competition isn't a bad thing, but some of those guys just go way over the top (Think Ben Stiller's character in Dodgeball)

Join a coed league one where they require that like 33%+ of the players must be female. Those are fun, and you might meet a nice girl.

Damn, some people had a rugby/american footbal hybrid try-out this Monday.. Man, I wanted to join, but my parents won't let me :(.. Too violent..

It was cool though, just bashing each other down, getting the ball and running.. That's about the tactic :p.
