wth is an .iso file and how do i use/read/open it?

Its sort of an industry standard image file. You usually have to burn it back to a cdr. Most major programs allow you to do this, like ezcd creator. There are some utilities, sorta like winzip or the like, that can allow you to open an iso file and read its contents.

I believe WinRAR lets you open and veiw what's in an iso file. You can setup a partion of your hard drive to act as a CD-ROM of sorts and "install" the iso on there if you don't have a CD burner. There's a number of programs that allow that but can't think of one right now...

If you do have a burner then use a program like EZ CD Creator or Nero and burn the image onto a CD.

This may be more than you meant, but it's good info.

ISO

ISO filez are just standardized files (usually means and exact, bit for bit copy).
Lots of software uses ISO filez, and they are not necessarily named xxx.iso.

There is some freware called CDmage that allows you to look at the innards. cdmage.cbj.net, I think. (hehe, downloaded a new release a few moments ago)
