So I am having a conversation with a girl online and it ends in the following way:
.
.
.
girl: 143
me: what does 143 mean?
girl: OMG. You need to find out.
me: just tell me
girl: no. you need to find out yourself.
me: okay. (feeling weird not knowing WTF is 143)
<good byes after this>

SO, WTF is 143?
Am I just dumb for not knowing this. Maybe I just suck at teh Intraweb!

maybe its like 411 , but backwards (114) , with the 2nd and 3rd digits swapped (141) , and add 2 = 143

Hehe you're teh dumb. 143 mean "I love you". Equals the number of letters in each word. It's a code from numeric pagers peoples used to use before the days of text messaging.

Great mind behind the internet: "Using keyboards, people will be able to type out messages back and forth, making for clear, articulate, clearly represented speech!"

Person on AIM some years later: "OMGHI2U! A/S/L? ROFFLES! 143? l33T!"

1 = i
4 = l-o-v-e
3 = y-u-0

similarly

8 = t-h-1-n-k-1-n-6
2 = 0-f
3 = j-0-0
