I was working on my computer and it just turned off.
And now it wont even post.
It had been running for a while (about a week).
I am pretty sure its a hardware problem. I touched the case and it was pretty hot and now the power supply is making a weird noise.
If you want details to understand the problem, let me know.
thanks

Try replacing the Power Supply, it's most likely bad. When you do, make sure it's something more powerful that what you have now. It's possible that the fan of the power supply was not working therefore making the computer very hot. A non-functioning Power supply can make a huge difference if that's the only fan you have running in the comp (except for CPU fan).

If I were you, try borrowing a Power Supply from someone before buying one to make sure that's the problem

Thanks for the advice.
I think it is the power supply fan also, since it was making some weird noise last week. I will go to Fry's today and probably get a new one.
Do you think the CPU might have gone bad also from overheating, its a Celeron 466. The case is a mini tower so there probably isnt much vetilation if the PS fan dies out.
BTW, if i plug in the current power supply, the fan is still working but it doesnt look like its doing much work. What happens is that the computer starts, everything starts running, but it doesnt do anything more and the HD(it could be power also) light just keeps blinking.
