I'm upstairs working off the linux server downstairs (shared folder and ssh console open) then suddently I loose complete contact with the server. For some reason the power failure emergency script executed itself and shutted down the server.

So I go downstairs, the workstation that's on the UPS is running fine, and the other server that's NOT connected to the UPS is running fine, so that's a sign there's no power issue going on. The UPS is beeping as if there's a power outage. I had to shut down the workstation, and reset the UPS. WTF happened? I really hope it does not mean the UPS is having issues, since it's nearly brand new. It's a 600Watt/1000VA "Ultra" UPS. The reviews on it are good, so it better not fail me... is this one of those things I just act never happened and go on with life? I powered everything back up and so far so good. *fingers crossed*
 
Could be faulty UPS. I don't know much about them but I do know all be cause reviews are good doesn't mean everyones guaranteed a problem free unit.
