WTH Chuck Norris...the total gym costs over $1600!?!?!?!

I was just sitting here thinking about getting another in-home fitness machine since winter is creeping up on me. I have had a Bowflex and did enjoy it. I wasnt excited that I paid over $1k for it, but in the long run after having it for over a year and then selling it via Ebay for only $100 less than paid, I figure I did alright overall.

So I remebered seeing this thing on TV late one night and decided to google it.

Our Risk-Free trial offer lets you try the Total Gym XL in your home for 30 days with a single payment of just $49.95 and FREE SHIPPING. If you decide to keep the Total Gym XL, you?ll be billed 16 additional payments of $99.90.

Sheesh...a board strapped to rails with pulleys....

That's over 4.5 years gym membership..no thanks. 😛

If Chuk Norris wants to sell the total gym for over $1600 then Chuck Norris will...... and you will buy 2 of them and be happy. In fact if Chuck Norriss wanted to sell daisies for $1600 he would and you will buy them. Not that Chuck Norris ever would sell Daisies. But if he did daisies would then become the most masculine representation of manliness.

Rip-off. Huge rip-off. Think about it: at 2 am, they're on about 20 different channels. They've gotta pay for that advertising somehow. The only explanation is to grossly mark up the price on their product (either that, or sell an incredible volume of that product). But, somehow I suspect they aren't selling millions of the things. Therefore, huge markup.

Yes, 2am advertising is a prime, super expensive spot, almost like the Superbowl.

How much do you suppose a 30 minute ad is? Now, multiply that by at least 20 per night (it's on at least 20 channels between midnight and 7am)

edit: I'm not saying that's the same amount as superbowl advertising, but it's certainly not something that anyone is paying out of petty cash.

You're an idiot if you think that your problems can be solved by an 'all in one' solution.

There are two things you can do

1. Get off your ass and go to a gym
2. Get off your ass and go do something that requires more than the movement of your hands (ie yardwork or something athletic).

Fixed. Thanks for your personal attacks but I have to inform you that what you've stated is completely irrelevant, my looks and 'maturity' has nothing to do with your inability to grasp the concept that products sold on TV at 3am are subpar and geared to people who are depressed and overweight/obese.

My post is completely irrelevant and I think that products sold on TV at 3am are of decent quality? 😕
