The moreI think of this affair the less I like it. Mr Allins fancies himself the perfect man of theworld and a great charmer. If anyone tries to stop us wecan say weve a letter to Mr Barbon from Mr Craw. A stiff net collar held her head high, a head neat andpoised like that of a superior bird of prey. The folk here seem abit jumpy in their nerves. As such it was a fitting house for its present occupant. Youre entertaining a first-ratecelebrity, Aunt Harriet. She was their one link with avanished world which they now and then recalled with regret. For answer Dougal drew the missive from his inner pocket. Its all very exciting and very difficult. Her banker knew her as a shrewd judge ofinvestments. Then you know nothing about us at all, she declared firmly. And the other man who is crawling down there. So, when this electionstarted, my chief says to me: Heres our chance at last, hesays. She was a specialist, aspecialist in kindred. Its a mighty shell for such awee body as Craw. I think if you met him you would say hewasnt quite a gentleman. You asked ME, you know, in spite of my protests. Its slavery of somekind, but whether shes his slave or hes her slave I dont know. To the tenant of the Castle she was well disposed.

I dont understand the point of these emails but get dozens and dozens of them PER WEEK. The get right through gmails spam blocking thing and go righrt into my inbox. They arent from the same person, ever, and they are so annoying. They arent trying to sell anything, they arent trying to get me to do anything.. WTF?!

I get them too, maybe they are somehow used to verify good email addresses?

The easiest way to verify that would be to see if you get the "images blocked" warning in google. Usually these bizzare text emails are the text-only version of an HTML email in an attempt to bypass spam filters.

The amount of junk email I get in my gmail account has exploded lately. I signed up for a free Shick Quattro Titanium the other day, so that's probably it.

Not to mention some guy has a similar email address as mine and uses mine occasionally, so I get stuff like his web order confirmations. Yesterday I got his Welcome to Sirius Online emails.

That jibberish is designed to defeat spam filters. I usually have an image of "hot stock tip" above it.

I still keep getting fvcking viagra offers...only now viagra is spelled like this: f3jkddfvi1dfgrrr11sa

Hence I call upon the saint programmer of Googles Empire for construction of deconstructing mechanism for annihilating this evil doer.

Seems like these spam emails go through a different phase every now and then. Before it was those "survey emails" and now it's fake rolex watches and prescription medicine.

And here I thought they were all from my good trusted friend Nartuwa Mimbabwi.....he said he's Nigerian and that they're known for their trustworthiness. Should I be worried? He holds all of my vital info for safekeeping.

Hmm, I have gmail, and I've never had any spam get through the filter. Yet. Touches wood. Checks gmail.

Has someone been signing up to naughty websites? ;)

Might want to rephrase that...

But yes, GMail's spam filter is excellent.

Yeah, its weird. I've stopped most spam with blacklists and some word filtering...but there's like 3-4 different 'types' that still make it through. Rolex watches, mispelled viagra stuff and I'm still getting a handful of phishing scams sneaking in.

It's secret code. Only meant for agents to know what it means.

Images are generally used in spam to check for good e-mails. If the images loads (web stats will show) then they know a user received it so e-mail == good.

I get thos e-mails to. I just click report spam immediately and be done with it. Overall g-mails spam filter is pretty good, minus those weird giberish and text images e-mails.

However, the images used in this spam are not external, they are attachments.

Ohh. Then as the others said, filter evasion.
