WTH : All folders now opening in new windows??

I'm running xp and all folders are now opening in new windows and for some reason I can't get it to stop. I've reset folder defaults and all the other obvious setting but they still do it

"open folders in new instance" - something like that, turn it off in folder options

D@mn I think I know what I did but can't figure out how to get back to where I was, I accidentally changed file folder open to use explorer.exe which is why its always opening in the new window,


anyone know what program is responsible for folder switching????
