Its a pf790, I think its been there for a while as I've noticed it before, but this morning I justrealised its a pretty big spot! What caused this? I never brought a magnet anywhere near it... Could my speakers have done it? And would this be RMA'able?

ya speakers coulda done it. I have moitor attached speakers but they are computer safe ;) make sure yours are to...usually if its nt to serious, just remove the speakers fo the night and leave the monitor off. I did that with my TV and it fixed a mognet that came near it, STRONG MAGNET, and left it off, next morning it was gone...

U might be able to adjust it using the OSD. I know my Iiyama VM 450 pro can adjust colour in the corners. Dunno about the PF790 though....Unless that is some magnetic force caused the problem...

I had something similar a few months back on my brand new AOC 9GLRs. I have really miffed until I noticed that I always tend to place my telephone (with it's fairly strong magnets for the earpiece and receiver) on my desk directly underneath the bottom left corner of my computer screen ;)

doing a couple of degauses might help, but the only thing that has kept my monitor safe was putting some non-magnetic metal between my boxes and screen (isnt very nice looking on the desk but my boxes stand on about 3 cm from my screen the last three years and there is still no trace of moiree or other screen deformations ..)

definitely try leaving it off overnight (and away from _any_ magnetic source) and see if it fixes it. Degaussing it may help, but do not under _any_ cirumstances degauss it if there's a magnetic field nearby. I did that to a monitor at work 18+ mos. ago and it's still discolored! other than that, is it on a metal desk? I've seen those cause interference with specifically Viewsonics.

If the problem isn't too bad, degaussing should take care of it.
If that doesn't work, you might be able to get it fixed at a TV repair shop - I had an old Sony TV that was too close to one of my speakers and got pretty sever discoloration in one of the corners. The guy at the shop used an electro magnet to fix it up - just waved it around - made the tube freak out, but when he was done the color was back to normal - didn't even charge me for it.

Good luck.

If your monitor has a Purity contol, that is the one you need to adjust. It maight be called another name, but that is the one you need to fix the problem. You can also try facing the monitor in another direction.

There isnt any type of magnet around here... and wooden desk. And I always leave it off over night...

Found the Purity slider, and turning it to the losest I find that corner I was talking about incrediblly discolored from the rest... But found a nice even level that fixed it! Thanks! was this just a purity prob? or was it accually because of a magnet?

A magnet could cause the problem, but when the monitor turns on it goes through a degaussing that should clear the screen. It sounds like the purity control just needed to be adjusted. I find that is is best to set it on a solid white screen, adjusting until everything is as even white as possible. The Nokia monitor test program available free on the web has patterns and instructions for setting the control. You can search for "nokia monitor test program" and it will generally come up for download from several sites. Also, it is my understanding that monitors are setup in the factory facing a certain direction to allow for the earths magnetic fields. When taken home, they face another direction and need to be adjusted.
