Ok I bought a Samtron 17"DF monitor(manufacured by Samsung) back in May from BB. It came with two rebates both were $40 so total saved $80. One rebate was from BB, the other was Samsungs(sent to New Rochelle). BB had the reabte mailed to me within 4 weeks, I check Wheresmyrebate.com and the expected mailing date has changed from 7-13, 8-13, to 9-13. So I called last week on the 18th to see if had been mailed, but Nooooo they are saying Samsung has extended the rebate return rate. WTF!!!!!!!!!Its been nearly 5 months I want my damn $40 back. Wheresmyrebate.com says they have no contact information for Samsung, oh really? Then how the hell did you find out that the rebate was being extended. I am so pissed, what do I do?

file a complaint with the FTC... heck, i think you might be able to file with the post office too... mail fraud, maybe...

Yea, file a mail fraud complaint. Using US mail to conduct fraudulent activities is clearly illegal.

What? what would good would this do? They haven't mailed the check out yet.

Provided that you made the appropriate copies of all the receipts, rebte forms and UPC symbols, I'd head over to Best Buy and request their assistance. Granted, this is not their warranty - however, they did sell the monitor to you and they did advertise the rebates on the monitor - so, they are responsible to a degree. I think if you headed for your Best Buy store and demanded the rebate money that Samsung is not paying you, they will give it to you on the spot. This has happened to me before - and I was successful at getting Staples to hand me the money. CompUSA was a little trickier - they wanted to see an actual "rebate rejection" postcard before paying me. However, I still had the box for the CDRW drive that I had purchased and nearly 6 months had gone by. I then asked the manager if I could return the drive since they wouldn't pay me the rebate amount. He said "sure." I ended up returning the drive 6 months after I purchased it and received all of my cash back. Since this amount of time had passed, I purchased a newer and faster Lite-On drive for less than half the money that I had paid for the drive at CompUSA, so in the end, this worked out well for me.

I think you should head to Best Buy - at the most, you'll only lose your time. At best, you'll get your rebate money. Best of luck!! 🙂
