Okay, so I'm anal. I use CDex to rip all my CDs at 224 Kbps AVBR. I have them meticulously catalogued in the My Music folder (/me hugs XP).

That's not the issue.

What concerns me is that I was browsing the directory in folder view today, instead of detail, and I noticed that almost all of the CDs had ALBUM ART that went along with them.

WTF?

All of the files were created between 5/28/03 and TODAY, at 1:19 AM.

Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but I do not recall downloading these files. Ever.

Where in the name of Gates did these things come from?

WMP adds media information to files in it's media library unless configured not to.

Yeah, but that doesn't make any sense - I never used WMP to play music. Ever. You telling me it just scans the hard drive and starts downloading every time I'm watchin' a porn?

Well, when you insert a music CD, does any program autorun? If so, it's probably loading the album art.

MusicMatch Jukebox does that. I think it's kinda cool.
