But if you sold something very large, such as a vehicle, I can see where it would be a hassle.

Mainly I don't appreciate them not telling me or anything.. just starting doing it. I'd think they'd need permission... although I'm sure that's tucked somewhere in the 53 page agreement crap.

I've always received an e-mail at least a week before funds are withdrawn.

I don't recall getting an email.. but I more than likely assumed it was ebay spam or something.

I called capital one and they removed the overdraft fee thing

I did not check yes to any option.
Then you did not check "No, I don't want payments automatically debited from my checking account.". Same thing.

Either way, you can't blame it on eBay. They DO email you your invoice.

Unless it was truely a mistake and you're not setup for automatic payments, in which case I'd be pissed too.

I NEVER set my account up for automatic payments.

Not only that, but I can't turn it off. You have to click 'my account' then 'update payment method'

Then, there is a box, if it is CHECKED then auto payments are ON. I uncheck it, but it still doesn't change the status from "Your account is currently set up for automatic payments using your credit card."

Haha, try paying attention next time. You think you just give eBay your account number for kicks? It is so they can get your money.

Yes they sent one;

no. I have two options: credit, or checking account.

I can't turn off automatic payments, which means I can't set it up to pull from paypal.

Strange. I'd email them and ask whats up. How long have you been a seller on eBay? And they've never automatically debited before? Hmm...

I do believe that its setup to automatically take it out by default, and you have to turn it off.

that's funny, ebay took from my paypal (and I remember telling it to)... there's a record of it in the activity history.

Payment To eBay, Inc Completed ... it's for listing fees.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. My name is Doug, and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your questions regarding removing automatic payment.

When you registered your sellers account on eBay, we asked that you add a checking account and credit card with one of these options selected for automatic billing. Since it is required that you have a method of automatic payment listed, we will not be able stop these deductions.

If you prefer to not have either of these billed, but to instead pay manually by either check, money order, or by making one time payments online, you still need to select one of the automatic payment options.
You can then prepay your account. As long as your balance due is $0.00 as of your invoice date, we will not bill your automatic payment method.
To ensure that your payment is posted in time, you will want to be sure to send it 10-15 days before your invoice date. You can reach the page to print a payment coupon by following the steps below:

ok that's fscking stupid. I NEVER had automatic payments, and it looks like I'm FORCED to accept automatic payments OR leave money in my ebay account.
