until one party or the other provides other contact means (phone number, etc.).

You clicky the linky, you have just confirmed your email address as being active - and even better for spammers, you read spam!

As an experiment, go to the site but change the link from your email address to something completely nonsensical. I bet you it acts like they were expecting "you".
