WTF? What causes this?...

I have a P3-667 rig here. Motherboard unknown. I originally started getting some weird beep codes. After replacing most parts, I decided to change processors, since it was the only thing left (also, I tried new memory, so that is not the problem). Now, with the new CPU installed, I get the following beep code(s) which are not listed on any of the sites that define beep codes:

Beep-Beeep-Beeeeeep (the more 'e''s, the longer the beep)

and after that first set, a continual, higher pitched series of short beeps that never end.

Has anyone heard of this? Again, a P3, with Award Bios.

PS- I tested the power supply, and it is functioning properly, so THAT isn;t the problem. It is a 250 watter, which is sufficient for a computer this age (~2 years old).

Thanks in advance,
TGHH

2 short beeps followed by a long beep usually means video card. Anything more than like 3 beeps I'm willing to bet cash that its the memory. Or it could be the motherboard, but I've usually seen that more than 3 or 4 beeps is bad memory.

Since you said you switched it though, it might be the bios. Did you try clearing the CMOS yet?

Changed the video card already, and tried new memory. I think those are ruled out, but I will try clearing the CMOS

Also, it should be noted that there is a 2 second pause between the 2 types of peep, which lead me to belive that there are *2* problems.. but maybe not.

I will try clearing the CMOS. If that doesn't work, any other suggestions.
