wtf ups shipping?

ordered a hard drive from newegg a few days ago with standard shipping. they ship it out on the 11th from their warehouse in baldwin park california which is like 30 minutes from my house. originally the ups tracker info said everything would be there on the 13th. the 13th comes and theres no sign of anything. now im getting a message saying it was scanned in oregon and it wont be delivered until the 19th? wtf ups!?

Oh I've seen stuff that scanned in China and when I called, they said there was a customs issue with CANADA/US and that it was stuck trying to enter into Chicago from Canada. WTF? And then guess what? The next day it arrived at my doorstep in California. Yeah it must've warpspeeded here or something. That's the only whacko scan I've had from UPS. Sometimes they are just plain stupid.

i know its not uncommon it's just so dumb when the original location is half a friggin hour away from my house! id rather go pick it up...

no afaik...mostly because they have quite a few warehouses and it would be hard to figure out if the items you were ordering would be available at the local warehouse.

UPS Service sucks...their rates have never been higher, and the Country has obviously gotten larger, it used to take a package 5 days coast to coast, now it's 7 days, if you are lucky.

Yeah, I have been noticing a lot more routing weirdness too from UPS. Had a package being sent from Indiana to Illinois get sent to the middle of Wisconsin first. :Q

It's called a "hub system." Direct routing of individual packages is inefficient.
