WTF, United Airlines don't answer the phone?

I'm trying to get a late flight charge credited from United due to a business trip being cancelled because of the WTC events. Orbitz has already credited me for the flight but United won't answer their phone. I find this unacceptable, they say they are going to credit us but I've been calling for three weeks, to get the ball rolling, and get a continuous busy signal...

*66 ?

A busy signal doesn't really mean they're not answering the phones.

Probally VERY VERY busy... not their fault IMO.

EDIT:: I just called them (1-800-241-6522) and didn't get a busy signal at all, some recorded message about their Mileage Plus club, but no busy signal.

United phone #'s

Busy, nobody is flying. They've cut their schedule 20% and started laying people off. I just called and got a message saying "due to high call demand we are unable to take your call." When the hell will they be able to take the call, and last time I checked phone systems had a little feature called "putting you on hold." My guess is they don't want to refund money so they aren't taking calls.

Because of the seat sales announced lately, they are probably swamped with calls. The message you are hearing is their overflow route. It's better than hearing a busy signal, no? Just keep trying, and you will get through.

They are busier for people probably canceling their trips and not booking them, I should have made that clear in my first post.
