I had a 1700+ for about 3 years so I bought a AXP 2600+ 333FSB from a friend and it died on me today. I think I chipped the core of the 2600+ or something because I bought a ZALMAN HSF, the one with the spreaded heatsink and the fan isn't attached on the heatsink. Man, I have the worst freaking luck in the world! Ahhhh!!!!!!!!! Now I gotta buy another cpu!

CPUs never just "go bad", you must have reinstalled a heatsink or something. If the entire PC just stopped working it would be another issue.

You sure you aren't getting the heatsink and/or fastening mechanism reversed? They're asymmetrical. Check on that, because a reversed heatsink would account for chipped and overheating cores.

Definitely not my PSU, because I just bought a new Antec True Power 330 last week and yes my HSF is installed correctly, I even tried putting back on the old one, and still no boot or anything come up on the screen. I'm so mad.....

Ditto. I mean really, take an extra few minutes to install everything correctly, it'll save you a lot of aggravation.
