wtf, trick-or-treaters starting at 4:00PM?

With it getting darker earlier now, a lot of parents want to take them when its still daylight. I think this is dumb, as Halloween should be a nighttime "what-was-that-noise" type of event, but some little kids don't handle it well.

No school for the next two days in my county. Monday = parent/teacher conferences and Tuesday = Presidential election.

 
I remember when I was a kid, I told my parents "Ok I am going out" around 8 or so.. Now all the parents go with their kids, while it is still light out.. What has this society come too.. All the fun of halloween is gone.
 
they dont want to get beat up/rapped/kidnapped because thats what happens as it gets darker... sad but true
