you know the episode where they all get in a fight over monopoly

then the social worker comes and brings them to the woods

and then they go back home and everyone finds out homer and flanders got married in vegas

etc...

well, you know how the social worker got stuck in the tree while the wolves and cougars were trying to reach him

and the simpsons had to work together to save him

- homer goes down with a rope
- they tie rope to car (bart drives, his "first time")

---(THIS IS WHAT THEY SKIPPED)---

- homer drops roast beef, gave super powers to wolves/cougars almost reached them
- homer (finally) drops beer, intoxicates wolves/cougars, then they escape

WTF?!?! HOW COULD THEY TAKE THAT PART OUT!??!

OH MY GOD why don't you become your own media mogul and buy the rights to the simpsons and find out?

Its possible they cut it out due to running time. It happens and sometimes its noticeable, sometimes its not. Extra time goes to commercials.

I remember that part too, in particular the beer making them lazy and uncoordinated :)

Guess you'll have to buy that season when they get to those DVDs in 2005 or 6 :)

they edit stuff all the time. it sucks and i hate it, which is why the rest of the dvds can't come out soon enough. example:

homer (as the beer baron): "i'd like to buy 42 bathtubs."
salesclerk: "well, we have a deal where you get 50 for $3000-"
homer (indignant): "i said 42!"

haven't seen that scene in years :(

don't make me smack you. Any simpsons fan that doesn't notice something like that isn't a simpsons fan.

Yea, I've seen that one a few times as a repeat, and they always cut it out. My guess is for running time.

Yea, they always cut crap in syndication. The one that comes to mind is when their's a badger in the dog house and Homer's like "It's probably just Milhouse"..then he gets torn apart..i've seen them cut there..but then he pulls his shirt up exposing his cut skin and lisa asks why his shirt isn't torn, to which he replies "I'm not a tailor". The funniest part of the whole setup imo.

So long stupid story short, they cut stuff in syndication.

Syndicated shows have to be cut for running time, the beginning credits are always cut, then a few jokes here and there are cut. The Simpsons DVDs have the full length episodes.
