WTF theres a stray cat keeping me hostage in my apartment

So, im at my apartment, and I open the door to leave, and the black stray cat is like right next to my doorstep and tries to sneak inside my apartment. It's clearly stray because its hair is all over the place.

So, i close the door, wait 10 minutes, crack the door back open, and its just sitting there at my door. WTF?! Ive never seen this thing before.
So i have some options.... see poll

Is there some noticeable sign that this thing has rabies? it looks nice enough
 
It's a friggin' cat. Step over it and keep walking. If he's still there when you get back and doesn't seem diseased, just disheveled, see if he's friendly and try to take him to a shelter if you don't want him. At a shelter he'll have a chance at being adopted and even if they have to put him down it will be a more humane death than simply dying outside.

If it's rabid, it'd be trying to attack.

Maybe it's previous owners used to live there. That'd be interesting.

Either way, just leave and don't let it in. It's just a cat, I doubt it'll hurt you.
