So far I tend to agree. I don't see much new stuff that's actually likable. Now I understand the "you're bitching about something that you're getting for free" argument, but it still begs the question of why they did the upgrade. They should have done a public beta on a spare server.

My understanding is that there was a public beta (not that I ever saw it). That said, all the changes seem negative to me, and it's hard to believe that if it loads this slowly on my computer, it is not also lagging the host servers. I just can't see any meaningful benefits that come close to outweighing the negatives.

Basically someone at the office wants some shiny new hardware.

All us admins know that if you want new hardware you take the software that everyone uses every day and "upgrade" it to something so much slower they give you money just to make half the speed it used to be.
