There is a town about 20 miles from me that is under $2.00. Kinda interesting that when congress starts grilling the oil companies prices start dropping.

I remember 8 or so years ago when we were driving through West Virginia....
.89 cents/gallon and that was common in that area

hehehehe
it would either be 89 cents a gallon or $0.89 / gallon.
.89 cents > 1 cent.
anyway, that's not why i was quoting you. i quoted you to say, 8 yrs ago, 89 cents / gallon was the norm in NJ also. NJ as expensive as it is to live here has surprisingly low gas prices.
even now 2.29 is not uncommon. i've seen 2.23 and 2.26 in NJ.

More accurate to compare with historical US prices. Comparison with other countries has been discussed ad nauseum. It would be interesting, however, to look at the differential between US and non-US gas prices in the past year or so. Did foreign fuel prices climb as much as US prices?Originally posted by: Zenmervolt

$3.00/gallon is still "cheap" compared to the rest of the world.

Thanks for the fix. Corrected it.
Yeah I really can't think of what could possibly have happened to make that large of a difference in such a little amount of time...sad really. The good ol days![]()
