WTF, the CD key printed in the certificate of authenticity is wrong!?

I bought Dell 2350 and it came with MS Office 2000 Small Biz.

On the back of the dual CD sleeve is a hologram stuff with the CDkey printed on it.

I entered it and it doesn't work. WTF? I tried 298473 times, with lowercase or all caps...

what to do?

You sure you aren't confusing the 'B' with '8'? The way they print them is always ambigious and that's what gets me.

omfg this is pissing me off. no it still doesn't work.

one thing i DID notice on the certificate is that it only lists Microsoft Word 2002, and nothing else.

and there are NO other certificates that came with it WTF?

also, how is office 2000 = word 2002?

Mistakes happen, try calling Dell and asking them for a new certificate. If you need to, fax them a copy of the non-working certificate for proof that its not working. Not a big deal, I'm sure they'll resolve it. You can live without Office for a few days right? If not maybe you can download Open Office in the meantime to hold you over ...

OpenOffice Link

I've never had any qualms about using a CD key I found on the internet when I was entitled to use the software (for the same reason you have)... I've had the same problem in the past with Word.

Well, I don't know whAt to tell you. I doubt dell will give you a new cd key. You could follow the suggestion to tRy opEnoffice or, follow Zim's suggestion .
