What do you expect!!! With you cheapskate AMD users around here they need to make some money to help pay for that R&D...

This is what you call pure profit...Intel has no real answer and AMD knows this so why push the line and drop prices on chips already selling fine....

You whiners!!!

Hey Duvie, why don't you go fund some Intel R&D and buy a P4EE? That 2.4C couldn't have set you back much either. :)

Hey I am still trying to get me some xeons so I will be funding there....

If you notice it is rare the low end non celeron chips get below 100 bucks let alone the 50-60 dollar amd specials.....

I never buy the top cpu but I stay in the same newer line....I don't pay the premium but this seems very similar to how Intel prices their cpus even today...NOthing new just AMD wanting to make some moeny why they sit at the top of the heap...

I see that the NF7-S R2 is going for $89 at NewEgg.com. That's still $11 more than they were going for when I first jumped on the NF7-S bandwagon.

Agreed.

And for the record, I do plan on dropping bank on a new Socket 939 A64 or Opteron later this or early next year. I'm in a holding pattern waiting for all the technologies to be out and tweaked first before I commit.

I am with you there....I hate being the early adopter or "beta" tester for new products....I wait for the premiums to level off and the platforms to mature a bit and have a few fixes under their belt...
