hahahaha. Man, that created quite a raucous.

The bartender went nazi on the poor lady. She was actually really good looking for a 35 yr old, but super bitchy.

Man, that was pure entertainment. The bartender denied her beer because she lacked a driver's license. She had a Canadian passport, and he said that is not a valid ID to get alcohol :Q.

lol wtf....man, talk about now being generalized by Canadians that SD bartenders are nazi's..

She didn't even look anywhere near in her 20's. She looked more like in her 40's who "looked" like she's in her 30s.

I talked to the bartender to see what's up, and he told me that it their policy; he can't do anything about it. errr...and here I thought that airport employees would be more liberal (esp. laid-back SD haha) given the type of environment they work in.

Anyone else had experience w/ nazi bartenders? hahaha

k gotta catch this flight cya dudes!

EDIT: edited for clarity. Sorry, I was a bit tipsy after a couple beers. I also was in a rush to type, chug down the remaining beer, and packup my laptop so I wouldn't be late for my flight. Didn't matter anyways, the delayed flight made me miss my connection. I hate United airlines...

i read the original post 3 times and now it all makes sense... the airport bars at lindbergh still have the "buy a beer and get any shot for $1" deal still going on. good to know; thanks for the heads up!

Reading that, it sounds like you didn't have any trouble buying alcohol.

Jesus. That was damn near incomprehensible.

he saw a canadian woman, age 35, denied alcohol for lack of proper id in SD(south dakota, san diego?) and found it hilarious.

It depends on what the local ordinances are. They passed a law in Alpharetta, GA a couple years ago that required all restaurants to require a driver's license/ID to purchase alcohol. You could be old, grey, and wrinkly and you still have to show proof of age. I'm not sure if passports are accepted.

I figured as much. The SD part threw me, and then he suddenly brought airport employees into the picture.

Aren't passports the most official/universal identity? How can someone be denied for having that?

he's still logged onto the forums. perhaps he went up with his boarding pass and they asked him if he wouldnt mind waiting for the next flight... or perhaps even the flight after that. and someone will be along shortly to bring him water. lots of water.

edit: he's logged off now. i feel sorry for the passenger next to him who will probably have to listen to his slurred story about the airport bar not serving a lady with a passport.

I've had similar problems in MA. They wouldn't accept my PA drivers license nor my passport, ended up driving to 3 different stores until I found one that would.

a friend of mine was denied to buy alcohol in a US liquor store last year because he was "not American". He's 31 and had his Belgian passport with him

He has the right to refuse service to anyone he wants. Good for the bartender. I wouldn't server a Canadian either :)

For the record, most DMV's won't accept passports as ID.

err i dont think you are right on that. i know you said most but i still doubt it.

colorado accepts a US passport as ID

The Ohio DMV would not let me renew my license with one... my options were SS card, Birth Certificate or previous state-issued license (neither of which are a photo ID!). Was told by some people from out of town "Duh."
