Do you people remember when best buy offered the 32mb pc100 ram for $10? There was a $15 rebate. At that time, i picked up two, one for me and one for a friend. It showed two sticks of ram on the recipt. I copied the reciept and gave it to my friend along with the rebate form and the stick of ram. It was like 2-3 months ago. Today, i went to www.wheresmyrebate.com to check it out. It said that it was denied becuase same recept was used by more then one customer. It also wanted me to see 4865. Who do i call to talk to about the rebate? This is the first time that i had a problem with a rebate.

Hmmm... did both you and your friend use the rebate? Or did you just give your friend the receipt solely for his use??

If you did the latter, then there's a chance that your friend might have made a copy of his receipt as a gesture of some sort to give to another person (I dunno it's a crappy explaination but it is possible).

You should ask your friend if he distributed the rebate/coupon in anyway.

P.S. (edit) : If you're looking for somebody to talk to, you might want to try the Best Buy customer support line... ask them about the rebate and I'm sure they will transfer you to a person who is in charge of that particular division.

I'm sure that he didn't make a copy of the reciept. I picked up two rebate forms. I was over at his house when he was putting together everything for the rebate. Do you happen to know the phone # for the best buy customer service?

I think it might be different (the phone number) per area.. I'm not too sure if they have a universal number for the states...

Might wanna check their website - something about policy maybe.

Check this out... I just ran across a thread that asks about rebates:

Here

And the author, Ddeder stated that he read

<< On the bottom it says "This form [coupon] may not be reproduced, traded or sold >>

I'm not sure if Best Buy would have the same policy... but it might, and maybe they have a thing against reproduction of receipts (in place of coupons) as well... Not too sure though.

I think the first step would be take it up w/ Best Buy - Good luck :)

P.S. another quick question... did your friend mail in the reproduced copy of the receipt?

yeah, he did send in the reproduced copy of the reciept. I paid with cash, so wouldn't it be possible that another person bought the two sticks of ram at a differenct cashier with the same amount of money that i gave? And on the bottom of the form, i don't think it mentioned anything about doing what i did.
