WTF, Rage3D Tweak has messed up my gfx performance. HELP ASAP.

Hi,
Is was browsing the rage3d website, and decided to DL Rage3D Tweak, and follow a guide posted on the rage3d forums. I installed the rage3d tweak, and made the changed according to the guide, and ran 3dmark2001.
My score went down, from 10294 to 9545.
So i clicked the profile in rage3d tweak that resets everything back to defaults, and ran again, it went down again to 9356.
So i uninstalled rage3d tweak, and my video drivers, rebooted, ran driver cleaner, used a registary cleaner to remove any ATI entries from the registary, rebooted again, installed the drivers again, and rebooted. I then ran 3dmark2001 again, it had gone up, but only to 9542. WTF is up with that?
BTY, i ran 3dmark2003 and my score was up my 100points!!! before the problems, i got 4015, now i get 4106. Is this good? And what should i trust?

Thanks in advance

I had the same thing happen but it was a game that suffered. In the end I reformatted, needed a clean install of cat 32s anyway!

sorry that I'm no help here ;(

As long as your games run fine, then who cares about 3dmark scores? Try checking your cntrl panel and make sure all your settings are still correct. Rage3dtweak could have changed some of your values there, dependind on what settings you choose.

The control panels a set to defaults and the moment. Does my UT2003 Score look ok? Or does it seem a bit low. Keep in mind that im running on a SDR system.

Thanks for the input. But over the last 30minutes ive done something rarther drastic. Heres what ive done:-

Uninstalled:
ATI Drivers
ATI Control Panel
ATi HydraVision
SB Audigy Drivers
SB Audigy Web Update/s
Via Hyperion v4.46

Rebooted, and went to safe mode.

Deleted all ATI/Creative/Via files/Folders from:
C:\Windows & C:\Windows\System32.
C:\Program Files.

Emptyed Recycle Bin.

Ran Driver Cleaner and removed ATI Stuff
Ran Reg-Cleaner and removed all ATI/Creative/Via enteries.

Rebooted.

Re-Installed:
ATI Drivers
ATI Control Panel
Monitor Drivers.

Rebooted.

Re-Installed:
Creative Audigy Drivers/Programs from Creative CD
Creative Web Updates.

Rebooted.

Re-Installed:
Via Hyperon v4.46.

Ran 3D Mark 2001 & 2003.

My new scores:-
2001 = 9687
2003 = 4111

So they both increased a bit. Thats got to be the most intensive re-install of main system drivers ive ever done. And its done absolutly squat. So i conclude, that 3D mark2001 has an error/bug in it. So i now give up, unless some can suggest something.

Why bother worrying? As long as the games run fine who cares what a stupid "benchmark" says, besides 150 points isnt that much of a difference...

150points? Are you mad. i`m over 800points down from what i had before i installed that crappy rage3d tweak.
The thing is, i`d see what the ORB thing compares my score too, but the reference rigs that futuremark use are DDR baced, so its a bit dodgy for me as i have a SDR system.

Who cares about 3dmark scores unless you like playing 3dmark which you can't. Reformat your whole hard drive if your worried about the scores.

Suppose.
FYI, you can actually "play" 3dmark2001. If you have a licenced copy, you can play the car demo, just that level though. And Max Payne uses the same engine as well.
