WTF? Radio controlled atomic clock isn't adopting DST!

I bought a cheap radio-controlled clock a couple years ago at Walgreens, and it's performed flawlessly up 'til now. This morning I woke up and the clock hadn't adopted the new DST time (it was an hour slow). It also said "04/02 MON," indicating that it thought April 2, 2006 was a Monday.

I reset it and put it near the window, hoping that a strong signal would set it on the right track. It got the signal and the little radio icon on the LCD indicates that it received the time from WWVB in Boulder, CO. Unfortunately, it still is displaying the time an hour slow. It's set to the correct time zone and everything, too.

Any ideas behind what's causing this? The clock has never had this problem before.

EDIT: I put fresh batteries in and it's now working flawlessly. Must have been a glitch in the Matrix. :p

Nope - I made sure to get it set on the Eastern time zone. This is so weird. Perhaps I should just toss it (it was $10) and get a better one.

My clock reset itself sometime around 7 PM Eastern time. I don't know what triggers it. In the three years I've had it, it's never reset immediately after DST went into effect.

I have one of those sitting under my monitor. It's an hour behind too.

Mine had corrected itself when I woke up this morning (roughly 10 PST).

Is there a separate DST switch? Some states, like AZ, don't observe DST and most atomic-synched clocks have a separate switch to turn DST on.

You appear to be stuck in a time warp. I think this can be corrected but you will need a stargate. Let me know once you find one and I'll provide further instructions.

Power cycling it should do the trick. My cell phone only updates the time occasionally. I think it gets its signal from GPS.

I just put new batteries in my clock, perhaps that'll do the trick.

I have an atomic clock thermometer thing and when I woke up this morning it had the right time... *shrug*

Find your manual and maybe something is set wrong.

Turn the phone off and then on again. It will force a re-synch when it re-acquires the tower.

I always figured that the time was updated each time a call was made, when your phone updates its GPS coordinates.

It's not technically GPS.

Depends on the technology type used IIRC..CDMA I'm pretty sure gets its time from satellites, because it must be exact for the technology to work..TDMA/GSM are sent over the network

by the time i got into bed around what was correctly 3:30 AM, my atomic clock in the bedroom had updated..clock on the ceiling FTW!

..I've got to toggle mine DST on/off. I leave it on standard time.
