I'm sorry that you'll be forced to live on the street now b/c of that $1.50.

Um...just don't get it as a check, it's faster and FREE if you do a electronic funds transfer to your bank account. I'll still use them.

blah, after all the lousy custoemr service and horror stories I continued to use it for convenince. But now that they charge 1.50 which is about 1.5% for me since I withdraw when it gets to $100 I'm quitting.

People seem to have a hard time understanding that services cost businesses money.

I understand that it costs them money to send checks, but why should I pay for a service that doesn't protect its users. I mean all they do is "investigate" and then if the guy doens't have any money left in their account then you are SOL

But what I don't get is why did they change all of a sudden? Why have they not been charging up until now if it was costing them so much money?

That's a good reason not to use them, but it has nothing to do with them charging for checks.

Probably because all of their investment money dried up and they actually have to make money on their own now.

Booty,

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe, as a cost-cutting measure, they had to reduce the number of 'Bots assigned to forums.

would be funny if they charged 50 cents to the "paypal sucks thread" posters when the bot is present.

Hi,

The policy change has been on the site for some time now. I would urge users to check the "What's New" section on the site on a regular basis.

Check Withdrawal Policy Change

Notice Date: April 19, 2001
Effective Date: June 6, 2001
To cover the cost of processing and mailing checks, effective 6/6/2001, members will be assessed a $1.50 fee each time they withdraw funds by check from their PayPal accounts. There will no longer be a limit of one check withdrawal per day. Members may continue to withdraw funds via electronic funds transfer for free.

I'm still free (for now):)

Does paypal really expect ppl to read the spam they get from paypal and to acutally click on the whats new section? I know I'm too lasy to do that.

I would have appreciated a popup like at dialpad when you log in informting you of am impending change in policy.

Anyways I don't feel like linking my checking account cause then I can't dispute charges like with a credit card. Paypal has worked ok but I think I'm going to stop using it.
