Okay so after some hours of figuring out how to overclock my cpu (w this pos mobo) & I finally figured it out, had successful boot, render testing, gaming, temps, everything seemed good, no crashes. I ran into one small problem, no internet! No ethernet lighting in the back of my pc when i overclock. I restore to defaults in bios, reboot and the light int the back comes back on. After changing everything one by one and rebooting each time, I landed on changing my host clock in the slightest knocks my ethernet out. I dont know what to do now other than maybe buying a pcie ethernet board.

by default in bios my cpu speed is 3200mhz with cpu clock on auto, a fixed ratio of 32, a maximal of 38. If i want to overclock, i change my cpu clock and ratios to fix and may then tweak. I can then change the cpu clock to 100mhz, 125mhz, 200mhz and 275mhz. I select 100mhz and a new option appears to change the host speed & by default its 1000 IE 100mhz^, I change that to 1001 or anything higher and get no ethernet.. :(

my pc specs; http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=567 cpu; 3930k, 8gb jigsaw 1066 ram, gtx570, h100 cooler, and 775w psu.

Well sorry for rambling and terrible grammar but any help would be much appreciated. I'm quite frustrated and hopefully just missing something minor. Also c1e is disabled and Ive tried tweaking around core voltage and vcc. 1.35v core and 1.2v vcc[/B]

No I haven't yet, only on account that in the link in my above post under downloads for my bios, the two bios updates are in beta and the description doesn't sound helpful. maybe there is more to the update. I'll give it a go and post back. should I flash with both the listed beta bios or just the most recent one?

That is odd that both are listed as beta, but not really unusual to see beta BIOS updates in general. Just try the latest.

Simple - don't touch baseclock. Your processor is unlocked, there is no need to touch your baseclock.

I highly recommend reading a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge overclocking guide. Note that there is no significant difference between overclocking 1155 and 2011.

Thanks for the help guys and quick responses. I tried both bios flashes, still no luck however I am newest one. The only time my overclock has been succesful on boot is when i change the host clock speed. when i try just the multipliers I get boot time fails upon start up so it defaults my bios or i have to go in and edit again. I use to use an 1155 socket 2500k with an MSI board., was very easy to overclock. This biostar is just kind of messy, you enable or disable things you get all kinds of new options with never before seen terminology lol. atleast for me. I'll check out your guide. hopefully im just getting boot time errors bc of improper voltage or somthing.
