Demos have been around for YEARS. Don't be so shocked. Besides, games won't look that good for only 64KB, it's VERY fine-tuned and proprietary.

Actually, this has been around for a while. As I recall, they used some crazy compression (something like 10000:1) to make it so small

Very neat, too bad it crashes my system :( I remember a compeition awhile ago writing demos that were super small, like 8k, really cool stuff.

Geez, it even ran that at 1280x1024x32. Alpha blending in there, plus the lights against the round towers looked very realistic. It would be great if more stuff were written in assembly language.
First Steve Gibson's software impressed me with its complexity in such a small package. Of course, that did have a user interface, but still, graphics have a lot more data than simple programs. That compression technology would be wonderful if it were able to be widely applied.

Learning assembly is like sticking bamboo shutes into your fingernails -- but when you learn to program in it, you can create stuff that's cool as hell. :D

I am sitting in stunned silence......... I watched the whole thing and was simply dumbfounded. With this level of genius available, why are we still using kludgy feeling bloatware (And this beautiful piece of artistry shows how absolutely poorly the software we use is written).

Imagine a refined full OS core running in memory with hard drive access limited to non regular use programs. Imagine the beauty and function a fully 3D immersed OS could provide. If we could but couple the extremely fast machines we use today with truly optimized code...........:(
