I don't doubt he said it, but without proof.... it's easier for me to believe that someone is talking out of their ass about Palin than that someone that dumb could be nominated for VP.

I hate defending the religious right... but they've done a lot of good work for Africa.![]()
Oh no, you're not going to get loki, gotcha media! Africa is like America. There is an Africa and a South Africa! South Africa is ruled by Nelson the mandolin player.

Not only is someone that unqualified to be nominated for vp, but someone from texas with similar qualifications (or lack thereof) was nominated and elected president.
im sorry, but palin's qualifications exceed that of obama. regardless of character flaws, she's knee deep in executive power, dealing with the microcosms, and the powers that border (canada/russia). obama was nothing more than a noobie legislator.

I was watching Shep Smith just now interviewing a guy on Fox. Apparently some things were said off the record that now, with the campaign over, can be told:
1) Palin did not know who was in NAFTA.
2) Did not know Africa was a continent; thought it was a country.
3) Before the Couric interview campaign staff had an idea of the questions that would be asked but Palin did not put much prep time in. Campaign staff felt the questions were fair and that she did poorly with them. Also, her staff vs McCain's had some friction and she was prone to get tempermental.
Now, most of us knew she was terrible. I said that I could have out-debated her in the VP debates and I was serious. I never thought she was this bad. This is truly mind-blowing bad. And yet, when asked today, she felt it was Obama's spending that had the democrats win.
Did Shep say this stuff on TV? Is there a link to this anywhere?
This is true. Though, there's an island in the aleutians from which russia can be viewed.Originally posted by: techs

The thing I found most disturbing about this clip is that Fox News KNEW about things like Africa is a country, etc. well before the election but didn't pursue it because they got the information "off the record." Any halfway competent news organization would have beat the bushes to find sources willing to go on the record on such a dramatic and important news story as that.
I guess it shows, once again, the harm caused by the lack of firewalls between Fox News editioral/opinion staff and the news staff.
Did she really say that? I know everyone has said she did, but she really said that?Originally posted by: techs

Interesting debate, really. Off the record has a , well, record of being off the record and for good reason, but in this case if I knew there was any chance of the country putting a VP in who only seemed merely "pretty damn incompetent" to the public instead of "holy crap this is just evil incompetence" such as this, I'd blow the whistle on it, because it's too much to risk. The thing I found most disturbing about this clip is that Fox News KNEW about things like Africa is a country, etc. well before the election but didn't pursue it because they got the information "off the record." I saw today that there is a place you can see russia from, diode <sp> alaska, with a population of 150 in the middle of NOWHERE, it's 2.5 miles from Russia.Interesting debate, really. "The angry aide described the Palin family shopping spree to Newsweek as "Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast." "
rofl. It's not like they are Poor either. IIRC, Palin has a higher Networth than the Obama's. Which kinda begs the question: Did the Obama's have a Clothing allowance as well?
:laugh:The tension is likely to continue or get worse. Lawyers for the Republican National Committee are heading to Alaska to try to account for all the money that was spent on clothing, jewelry and luggage, according to The New York Times.
(Newsweek article)McCain himself rarely spoke to Palin during the campaign, and aides kept him in the dark about the details of her spending on clothes because they were sure he would be offended. Palin asked to speak along with McCain at his Arizona concession speech Tuesday night, but campaign strategist Steve Schmidt vetoed the request.
You say that but there is a chance they would and that means there's a chance she could win.Originally posted by: jpeyton

But I find it shocking that she didn't know who was in NAFTA since she is governor of a state that, I imagine, has more commerce with Canada than it does with the lower 48. If she knew Canada was in it but omitted Mexico, I could forgive that. The Governor of Alaska wouldn't give two shits about Mexico.
