Palin is the reason I wrote McCain off completely and solidified my choice for Obama... so this wouldn't surprise me.

I don't doubt he said it, but without proof.... it's easier for me to believe that someone is talking out of their ass about Palin than that someone that dumb could be nominated for VP.
Considering she said seeing Russia from her house qualifies as foriegn policy experience, I believe it.

Do you seek out abuse?

Not only is someone that unqualified to be nominated for vp, but someone from texas with similar qualifications (or lack thereof) was nominated and elected president.

im sorry, but palin's qualifications exceed that of obama. regardless of character flaws, she's knee deep in executive power, dealing with the microcosms, and the powers that border (canada/russia). obama was nothing more than a noobie legislator.

Here is a response with an equivalent amount of thought and reason:

lol

This should have been the tip-off:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oro2Yh9HoEM

What serious politician says "It's cool ..."? She sounded like a valley girl.

It was odd that kudlow was spending so much time setting up apologies for a nobody.

And, the infamous "What exactly is it that a vp does?".

I was watching Shep Smith just now interviewing a guy on Fox. Apparently some things were said off the record that now, with the campaign over, can be told:

1) Palin did not know who was in NAFTA.
2) Did not know Africa was a continent; thought it was a country.
3) Before the Couric interview campaign staff had an idea of the questions that would be asked but Palin did not put much prep time in. Campaign staff felt the questions were fair and that she did poorly with them. Also, her staff vs McCain's had some friction and she was prone to get tempermental.

Now, most of us knew she was terrible. I said that I could have out-debated her in the VP debates and I was serious. I never thought she was this bad. This is truly mind-blowing bad. And yet, when asked today, she felt it was Obama's spending that had the democrats win.

Did Shep say this stuff on TV? Is there a link to this anywhere?

Yep, there is.

This is true. Though, there's an island in the aleutians from which russia can be viewed.

The thing I found most disturbing about this clip is that Fox News KNEW about things like Africa is a country, etc. well before the election but didn't pursue it because they got the information "off the record." Any halfway competent news organization would have beat the bushes to find sources willing to go on the record on such a dramatic and important news story as that.

I guess it shows, once again, the harm caused by the lack of firewalls between Fox News editioral/opinion staff and the news staff.

Recall bush's lack of geographical and geopolitical knowledge in 2000. Sadly, it didn't make any difference to voters.

Huh - a Fox News reporter's secondhand information is the gospel in this situation, but firsthand information can't be trusted wrt Black Panthers on election day. Interesting.

I saw today that there is a place you can see russia from, diode <sp> alaska, with a population of 150 in the middle of NOWHERE, it's 2.5 miles from Russia.

Interesting debate, really. Off the record has a , well, record of being off the record and for good reason, but in this case if I knew there was any chance of the country putting a VP in who only seemed merely "pretty damn incompetent" to the public instead of "holy crap this is just evil incompetence" such as this, I'd blow the whistle on it, because it's too much to risk.

I'm pretty sure that was just Tina Fey expanding on the "Border with Alaska" statement. An exageration for Comedic affect, but in many ways not far from the truth.

No. I just looked it up and all she said was there is an island in Alaska where you can see Russia (which is true). She never claimed to be able to see Russia from her house.

rofl. It's not like they are Poor either. IIRC, Palin has a higher Networth than the Obama's. Which kinda begs the question: Did the Obama's have a Clothing allowance as well?
The tension is likely to continue or get worse. Lawyers for the Republican National Committee are heading to Alaska to try to account for all the money that was spent on clothing, jewelry and luggage, according to The New York Times.

Newsweek has released an article that provides more behind-the-scenes information about the campaigns and it's pretty damning for Palin. You almost have to wonder if McCain knew what was going on and perhaps wanted Obama to win (maybe to teach the GOP a lesson about its religious lunacy?).

Supposedly Palin continued to have shopping sprees even after the $150,000 wardrobe was purchased, she could have hissy fits and be extremely miserable in the morning, she didn't know where Africa was or what countries were in NAFTA, she went off on her own and started attacking Obama on the Ayers front before the McCain campaign had signed off on it or worked out a strategy for it, and the hatred and racism from supporters had become so bad that the Secret Service either considered or had to pull black secret service agents (who were being threatened) from her protection force.

In other news, foreign hackers hacked into both campaigns' computers, perhaps trying to obtain foreign policy information.

Also, before the third debate McCain's staffers had concluded that the election was basically over and debated whether or not to tell McCain that he was sure to lose.

McCain himself rarely spoke to Palin during the campaign, and aides kept him in the dark about the details of her spending on clothes because they were sure he would be offended. Palin asked to speak along with McCain at his Arizona concession speech Tuesday night, but campaign strategist Steve Schmidt vetoed the request.

You say that but there is a chance they would and that means there's a chance she could win.

No, but the presumptive VP should. If she read "all the newspapers" like she claimed, she would. It is INCONCEIVABLE that a governor would not know who is in Nafta when a politically active high school student could tell you.

Jonks--are we certain that she even knows how to read or that her reading comprehension skills are more advanced than those of a fifth grader? Also, I suppose that it's possible that she only reads the Bible.
