Also, remember who's reporting these stories of looting: the national news media. The same national news media that sensationalized all aspects of the hurricane as it occurred so as to squeeze out every single ratings point possible. I can no longer watch CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC without feeling sick after watching how they handled the storm compared to the local stations down here in Baton Rouge.
While looting of TVs and other electronics is definitely happening, I'd imagine that most people are stealing things such as clothing, food, and whatever water they can find. However, that doesn't make for good TV, unlike reporting about roving bands of armed thugs raping girls and stealing stereo systems.

oh...and how is it possible that your friend lives in a Texas town where 60% of the men are cops? Are there only 20 men in town?

Well, you aren't in NO, and neither am I, so neither of us can say which is happening more. Just remember not to base your entire opinion on what the news is showing, as they've proven themselves to be anything but impartial.
The mayor could've done more, but he did a helluva lot given the time that he had. Especially considering, like I said, NO had never been directly hit by a hurricane before. They don't exactly train you for these kinds of things when you're elected. His priority was to get as many people out as possible. They evacuated roughly a million New Orleanians. I think that's pretty d4mn good.

also, i have a friend in texas that told me over 1000 people just came to their small ass town (population:30,000) and allready 3 stores were robbet, and over 60% of males in his town were cops. They had allmost no crime at all.

btw: its not like the storm drownded the people. there was a lake right above the city, the mayor should have taken action and started draining the lake through the connectors to the ocean slowly so it doesn't over flood, which he did not do. and that is most important when having a storm hit a city. all he had to do was give the orders, but he was in his crib listening to rap music.

And did you miss the part about the massive storm-induced wave that swept inland from the coast? Not all the flooding was from the Lake.
