d/l the new company of heroes patch (1.7GB), went to install it and wham, it deleted my game, but now i have no idea where the hell the files are, just missing like 4GB on my hdd....anybody else have this problem?
edit:
RESOLUTION:
ok, got it rectified - first, the patch is 1.7GB - you go into mp and it will d/l it for you so it is not like i went to thq and d/l the wrong one, the f*cker is that big
it seems like they basically rewrote the whole thing and now there are options for dx10 (but i don't know why they are showing up on a xp machine w/ only a dx9 card...) but anywho the whole game is now more refined - better gui, graphics are cleaner and it appears they did some tweaking down low as i got a bit better performance when running the in game demo/bench, not much, but ~5fps average more so they didn't do anything to harm the gameplay.
why it deleted my whole game - the drive that this game is on is my main drive which is a 36GB 15k scsi drive, i had ~10GB open and figured there should be no issue and all should be fine. this is not the case - you need more than 10GB open on the hdd
, so on my reinstall i installed it on my D drive which is a 300GB 15k scsi hdd w/ about 250GB open and no issues whatsoever and the nice thing is is that you don't have to re-download the patches again - they are kept on your machine in the C:\Documents and Settings\userXXX\My Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\Patch folder, so that will save you some time if you have the misfortune i had.
